How do disposable sampling swabs work?

1. Let the patient sit down first, then ask the patient to tilt his head back, open his mouth wide, and make an ah~~ sound.

2. The sampler fixes the patient's tongue with a tongue depressor, and uses polyester or calcium alginate to pass through the base of the tongue to reach the back wall of the throat and the crypts and side walls of the tonsils.

3. Wipe repeatedly 3~5 times to collect mucosal cells.

4. Slowly take the swab out of the mouth, put it vertically into the sampling tube, break off the tail of the throat swab, and tighten the disposable virus sampling tube to avoid leakage

5. Send it to the laboratory for testing as soon as possible

Precautions for collection:

1. Please put the throat swab vertically into the sampling tube, do not wipe the mouth of the bottle to avoid contamination. When putting it into the transport box, handle it with care to avoid leakage.

2. Before submitting for inspection, it is necessary to ensure that the appropriate specimens are consistent with the submission form. The appearance of the sampling tube must be marked with the patient's name and basic information. Specimens without basic information cannot be tested. Materials such as the review information form and checklist must be submitted (or electronic version submitted in advance). Submitted material must be free from contamination and not placed with the specimen.

3. Protective Isolation Gown is best sent to the laboratory or sent for inspection on the day of sampling.
